NYC Vaccine Mandate

Currently, per New York City’s Key to vaccine requirements, children ages 5 to 11 must show proof of at least one vaccination dose to enter the Museum, and visitors ages 12 and up need to show proof of two vaccine doses, or the single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

Starting January 29, 2022, children ages 5 to 11 will also be required to show proof of full vaccination.

Proof of a vaccination may include:

  • CDC Vaccination Card (or photo)
  • NYC COVID Safe app
  • New York State Excelsior Pass
  • NYC Vaccination Record or an official immunization record from outside New York City or the United States

In accordance with NYC’s requirements, the Intrepid Museum currently accepts proof of immunization for any COVID-19 vaccines that are authorized for emergency use by the FDA or WHO. Visitors over the age of 18 will be asked to present a government issues ID.

Identification means an official document bearing the name of the individual and a photo or date of birth. Examples of acceptable identification include, but are not limited to:

  • Driver’s license
  • Non-driver government ID card
  • IDNYC
  • Passport
  • School ID card

All visitors age 3 and up will be required to wear masks in indoor spaces within the Museum complex. Vaccinated visitors will be permitted to remove their masks in outdoor spaces such as the pier and flight deck.

The health and safety of our visitors is our top priority. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to bring you an engaging experience in a safe environment.
